Baby Fever

Once Cameron celebrated another birthday, generation 3 was well on its way. She dedicated herself to drama club, still holding onto her childhood dream of being an actress some day. Her main aspiration was befitting of a legacy Sim as she dreamed of being Fabulously Wealthy.
Cameron: Rich and famous would absolutely suit me just fine. This legacy business will be a secondary goal, in my mind.

As long as you produce an heir, I’m happy with whatever you decide to do with your life, Cami.
Cameron: As if you ever had any choice, Chronicler.

Sassy, this one…
On her days off, Cameron made sure to take the time to visit with her Aunt Bella. They had remained close, as some of Cameron’s dearest memories were of her aunt.
The rest of the family came along as well. Britt caught up with his little sister while Cameron chatted with Ryann.
There was another reason for the visit, however; Cameron wanted to meet her new baby cousin, Camilla.
Cameron: oh, nooboo… maybe carrying on the legacy won’t be so bad after all.
It’ll still be a while yet before Cameron has her own children, but we’ll make sure to visit often. Camilla’s dad is Channing Lewis, who is married and already has… well, a multitude of children, so Bella will need all the help she can get.
Later, Cameron was doing her best to forge relationships. Since Cameron planned to focus a lot of time on her career and earning money, forging these relationships now will make carrying on the legacy a bit easier on her.
She met a few guys, but none of them really struck either of our fancy, and our Townie Shopping would have to wait, because it was Britt’s birthday!
For Britt’s elder birthday, Cameron threw her father a big party at one of her favorite places. All of his friends came to celebrate him, and Cameron continued to scope out potential mates. Bella, as it happened, was pregnant again with another of Channing Lewis’s children. Although she loved her aunt, Cameron was secretly grateful that her father had been the heir to the family legacy. She thought Aunt Bella had a lot more growing up to do. But then, so did she.

Author’s Note:
It was this point that I changed the MC settings so that Sims would only have babies with people they were married to. All of those babies were getting out of hand! Stay tuned for more about Bella, Cameron, and all of the Alphabets.

Birthdays, Birthdays, and more Birthdays!

When we last left off, Britt was in a state of pre-parental panic. Unfortunately, whoever is responsible for chronicling our legacy apparently didn’t get any pictures of the produced child. -cough- But I am happy to announce, for Ryann’s sake, that Cameron Alphabet, a healthy baby girl will be the heir to the Alphabet legacy.
In the meantime, since it had been a while since the passing of their dear pet Molly, the Alphabets opted to adopt another dog. Here’s Bella taking little Roxie for a walk. She does’t seem to be enjoying it very much.

Bella: I’m not enjoying it very much either, Chronicler, so shut it.

Oh my, I’ll just leave you to it then…
Britt celebrated his adult birthday, with his baby sister behind him cheering him on. (Cheering on: not pictured)
Britt threw a party with his usual unnamed friends, where they played video games. Given Britt’s career of choice as a Tech Guru and his propensity towards video games, it was hardly a fair fight. Still, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Cameron had also celebrated a birthday and had taken to spending time with the ghost of Molly while playing on her tablet.
She also spent a great deal of time with her Aunt Bella, who enjoyed taking care of her niece, especially when it came to reading her bedtime stories.
Amelia also made appearances, using her ghostly form to take care of the grandchild she hadn’t gotten to meet in life.
Bella, perhaps triggered by the anniversary of her mother’s death, was going through quite the mood swing on her birthday. In fact, the mood swing carried over and only got worse once she blew out her candles.
Everyone gathered ’round as Death came to reap her soul, but luckily Britt was able to successfully plead for her life. Maybe Grim was trying to make up for the whole ordeal with Amelia. Either way, Bella was able to live another day, hopefully for years to come. Perhaps she would even outlast her dear niece. (Spoiler alert: she DOES!)
Days passed after Bella moved out on her own and soon it was time for Cameron’s birthday.
The result was rather unfortunate, as she came out with blonde eyebrows and brown hair.
Luckily, after a quick makeover — wait, wrong photo. Cameron had an interesting childhood, wherein she spent most of it dressed up as a bear with what appears to be an avocado on its tummy.
Ah, here’s the photo I was looking for. As I was saying, after a quick makeover, Cameron proved to be a pretty child indeed.
As Britt had spent a lot of (not pictured) time in his childhood having balloon fights with his parents, he made sure to incorporate that activity into his child’s life. While Cameron refused to take off the bear suit even in the 90 degree weather, she enjoyed spending the time with Ryann and Britt.
She even spent time cloudgazing with Ryann, something Roxie was very interested in, but couldn’t quite figure out.
Here is a painting that Ryann created. I don’t have a story behind it, but I liked the painting, so I included here. Also pictured is an award Britt won during his Tech Guru career.
Despite the long hours the career demanded of him, Britt always made sure to make time for a snuggle on the couch with his little girl.
They also both really enjoyed story time. Cameron was very fond of the voices Britt point on, especially when he read her The Princess and the Troll.
Cameron dreamed of some day becoming the greatest actress in the world and had decided to get a head start by joining drama club. Bella made sure to stop by often to break the family computer and help Cameron with her homework.
Before any of us were ready for it, Cameron’s teen years were upon us.
Yikes!

Cameron: What, am I hideous?

Not hideous, no, but… well, don’t worry, dear. We’ll get you a makeover in a jiffy.

Author’s Note:
I think that’s a good place to end this chapter. I believe from here on out, I should (hopefully) have more pictures to make each chapter longer, but I make no promises. I hope that you’re all enjoying the story as much as I’ve enjoyed creating it. Please feel free to leave feedback/suggestions/comments for me, as they are greatly appreciated. Until next time!

Good Times and Bad Times

Soon, Amelia was an Elder and Bella had grown old enough to start school.
Johnny, too, had moved into his golden years, and the time for Britt to take over the Alphabet legacy was quickly approaching.
While attending school, he met a girl who caught his eye named Rieko Suzuki. Rieko had the prettiest red hair he had ever seen and he hoped that she would be the one to help him carry on his legacy.

Britt: -blushes- Chronicler, that’s a bit embarrassing. We’re just talking, that’s all.
Just talking, huh? That’s weird, because this very next shot is of the two of you after you asked her to move on with you. Welcome to the family, Ryann.

Ryann: Thanks, Chronicler! I much prefer the name Ryann to Rieko. The makeover wasn’t too bad, either.

Any time. Given your hate for children, it’s the least I can do for you.

Ryann: What do you mean?

Oh, don’t worry. You’ll find out soon enough, dear.
Britt was head over heels and he was counting on Ryann feeling the same. One evening, he invited her out to dinner.
It was time for him to make his move. He very smoothly and casually pretended to yawn, ending it with his arm wrapped around Ryann’s shoulder.
Britt: Hey, baby. Come here often?

Oh, come on, Britt. There’s no way she’s going to fa —
I stand corrected. That very same night, Britt asked Ryann to be his wife. There was a lot of excitement during the exchange — one of the chefs unfortunately met an untimely end during the engagement.

Britt: Yeah, and Chronicler was too busy being creepy and watching us to catch it.

You’re actually right on this one, Britt. I did a lot of dropping the ball as far as picture taking.
Knowing his parents didn’t have long, Britt tried to set the ceremony for as soon as possible. Unfortunately, neither Amelia or Johnny were able to hold out until the wedding, but Britt knew they were there in spirit. Although I dropped the ball once again, Bella became a teenager. During the celebration, Amelia passed on. Britt, distraught, had pleaded with Death to give them more time. Death, the quipster that he is, agreed to spare her life — but came back only a few minutes later to reclaim it!
Bella, though she was morning the loss of her mother and the fairly recent loss of her father, showed up to celebrate her brother’s marriage and welcome Ryann to the Alphabet family.

Cheer up, Bella. You look gorgeous today!

Bella: Worst birthday ever…

-muttered- Don’t speak so soon, Bellz.

Bella: What’s that, Chronicler?

Nothing! Wouldn’t want to drop any spoilers…
Some of Amelia and Johnny’s friends came to celebrate with them, as well as some of Britt, Ryann, and Bella’s friends from high school.
The ceremony was beautiful and went off without a hitch.
Britt cut the first slice of cake to share with Ryann…
And it appears that even a recently hospitalized Sim came to celebrate their nuptials! Hope she isn’t an escapee from an insane asylum or something…

Random Hospital Gown-Wearing Sim: If I were, that’s probably not something you’d want me to hear you say…

Touche! Let’s see some more pictures of the happy couple…
Soon after the wedding, Ryann approached Britt to share with him some news she had just discovered. Britt experienced a very wide arrange of emotions.

Ryann: So… my clothes don’t seem to fit the same these days…
Britt: Maybe you should hit the gym?
Ryann: and I’ve been feeling a bit ill…
Britt: Maybe eat better, too?
Ryann: Keep talking like that and we won’t have this problem again in the future…
-trying desperately not to smack him- I’m pregnant, you idiot.
Britt: Pregnant? Well, that’s a lot better than what I was thinking!
Britt: But wait, how did this happen? I’m not ready to be a dad!
Ryann: Well, remember on our wedding night when I wore that thing you like and —
Let’s keep this PG, please. None of us need or want the details.
Britt: Oh yeah, I definitely remember that. Guess I’m really good at what I do.
Here’s Ryann with her super cute baby bump.
Bella was thrilled to learn that she would be an aunt. She was excited that she got to spend her teen years living with her brother, so that she could help out with the childcare.

Bella: I can’t wait to have my own little nooboos some day!

Just not too many, eh, Bellz? They’re definitely a handful.
Britt was glad to have Bella around, too. He missed their parents greatly and often took comfort in the fact that he was able to look after his baby sister. She looked so much like their mother that it reminded him to be grateful for every day he got with her.
He also spent a lot of time fawning over Ryann’s baby bump. Ryann was less-than-thrilled about this and the pregnancy in general. While she was sure she would love her little bundle of joy, her Hates Children trait made her pray to the great Plumbob in the sky that she would give birth to a girl to carry on the legacy, if only so she didn’t have to have another.
Britt: I can’t wait to meet our little prince or princess. I hope we have a little boy so I can play catch with him.
Ryann: Remind me to stay away from you when you’re in the mood for WooHoo in the future.
Soon enough, the time came for the baby to be born. Britt rushed Ryann to the hospital in a state of panic. Was he really ready to be a father? Would this child be the heir he needed to carry on his legacy? Britt needed just a few moments to breathe, but the answers to those questions would be coming before he knew it.
As a bonus, here is Britt at Bella’s teen birthday, after the second time Amelia passed, eating his food very sadly on the floor.

Weddings and Holidays

Er, Amelia, you feeling okay there?

Amelia: Better than okay, Chronicler — I’m getting married today!
If you couldn’t tell, Amelia was very pleased with the way that her wedding day was turning out.
The guests were late to the ceremony, but that didn’t stop Amelia and Johnny from enjoying themselves.
Amelia: Johnny, I’m so happy I found you and I promise to love you forever and always, in this life and the next.
Johnny: I promise to only tell you the best puns and to always keep a smile on your face with all of my amazing jokes.
Afterwards, Amelia and Johnny enjoyed a nice dinner together at Amelia’s favorite Italian restaurant. Johnny always insisted that no restaurant’s cooking could ever live up to Amelia’s and she was happy to accept the compliment.
Time passed quickly, and eventually Britt aged up to a toddler. Due to their still limited funds, they were unable to afford to give him his own bedroom, but he had plenty of toys, all the necessities, and a whole lot of love to make his childhood a great one.
Party guests: Woo, happy birthday, Amelia!
Amelia: Here goes nothing, I guess.
Life progressed as life does. Amelia couldn’t believe how fast Britt was growing up. When he grew too big to continue sleeping in his toddler bed, Amelia splurged on a whole new bedroom for him. She and Johnny made it a point to spend as much time with him as possible, in between both of their careers. They put a special focus on helping him with his homework, as they were placing great importance on academics.
Johnny was an attentive and caring father, one of the many things that Amelia loved about him.

Johnny: You do know that we can hear you, right, Chronicler?

It’s not as if I was saying anything bad, Johnny. I love your love.

Johnny: Well, keep it quiet. I’ve only just gotten Britt to sleep. He keeps complaining about the
monsters under his bed.
Since Britt was a great lover of dogs, Amelia let him adopt a pup of his very own. She trusted that Britt would take good care of their new family member. It would be good practice for when he took over the family legacy some day.

Britt: who’s the best puppy in all the world? Yes, you are, Molly.
Despite his busy schedule of caring for Molly, attending school and working on homework and projects, Britt also found time to join the Scouts. Amelia was happy that he was getting involved in the community and working to better himself.
Once Britt became a teenager, Amelia began to miss having a little one around the house. After a long discussion with Johnny, they decided to have another. Bella Zest-Alphabet was welcomed into the world.
Even Molly took part in the celebrations, singing along while the family decorated the tree.
Life was good and easy for a time. The Alphabets were living in a much nicer house than the plot of land Amelia had started out with and the future looked bright for both Britt and Bella. Of course, things can’t always stay the same and life isn’t always so simple.

The Start of Something

Our story begins with Amelia Alphabet. When she was but a young Sim, she decided to venture out on her own and build her very own Legacy from the ground up. She bought herself a large plot of land in Del Sol Valley and made a promise to herself: she would build this empty space into a warm, loving home, where all of her future children — and children’s children’s children — would be able to live out their own dreams. For now, her list of goals consisted of, in no particular order: Find a job, find a husband (to carry on the legacy, of course), and find a way to earn money quick. You can call me the Chronicler. I have been tasked with, well, chronicling the lives of Amelia and all future generations. Say hello to the people, Amelia.

Amelia: Er, Chronicler, it looks like it’s already beginning to rain. Did you really have to choose Spring as the first season?

To be honest with you, Amelia, I suppose I didn’t really think that one through.

Anyway, life was tough in those early days. Amelia scraped together some extra Simoleons to buy an easel, figuring that she would be able to sell off paintings quickly enough to pay the bills and work on expansion.
Amelia: Not that I’ll be getting much painting done with all this rain.
Still, Amelia was determined, and knew that she would do what needed to be done to ensure she was successful. She felt relief when she entered the culinary career as an assistant dishwasher.

Amelia: Not a very luxurious start, but I guess I can’t really be picky at this point. I live on a plot of land with no roof over my head.

Don’t worry, Amelia… you’ll be a Celebrity Chef before you know.
Eventually, one of Amelia’s neighbors came over to introduce himself. Amelia couldn’t believe her luck! A male suitor making an appearance on her very first day? But alas, it turned out that he was already married. Since she didn’t know anyone and he seemed friendly enough, Amelia decided she would make the most of his offer of friendship. Thorne Bailey and his wife, Octavia Moon, would eventually become two of her best and closest friends.

Amelia: hey, that one looks like a llama, Thorne.
Thorne: looks more like an alpaca, I think.
As luck would have it, she did eventually meet a male suitor. By this time, she had earned enough money to build some walls. Mostly this was due to her annoyance at her refrigerator constantly breaking from the rain. She’d built herself a small bathroom and a small kitchen. Unfortunately, her bed was still outdoors and she hadn’t yet been able to afford an upgrade to a double bed. She and Johnny Zest weren’t able to do much more than kiss, but Amelia was more than okay with that — Johnny was a great kisser, after all, and she knew in her heart that he was The One. There would be plenty of time for WooHoo in the future.
In the meantime, Amelia hosted dinner parties to show her appreciation for all the new people she had met. Thorne and Octavia were kind enough to let her host them in their beautiful home.

Amelia: beautiful house you’ve got here. That kitchen is to die for. I would love to have one of my own some day, but would settle for a roof. -looks at Chronicler pointedly-

Hey, I’m working on it! I can’t exactly Motherlode it into existence , though, can I? Get those promotions faster, get your roof faster!

Amelia: This food sure smells good. -decidedly ignoring that last comment-

Turns out if I wanted a long, happy legacy, I was going to need to do something about Amelia’s admittedly valid complaints. With a roof over their head, a few walls, and a brand new double bed, it was time to work on the next generation.
Amelia and Johnny were both more than happy to put in the work to complete this particular goal. It took a few tries, but eventually they were successful…
Amelia and Johnny welcomed Britt Alphabet into the world the day before they were set to be married. Johnny had proposed on their front lawn and for Amelia, it couldn’t have been more perfect. She’d wanted to get married then and there, but Johnny insisted that they have a big wedding where they could celebrate with their friends. He had always been in awe of Amelia and he wanted her to be able to enjoy her special day. Amelia had agreed and became more and more excited as the day grew closer. When she looked at baby Britt’s beautiful face, she knew her legacy was in safe hands, and she looked forward to watching him grow and shape their family’s future.

Author’s Note: Firstly, I would like to apologize for the lack of images for the first few generations. I’ve started so many legacies that never really got anywhere, so I really just wanted to see where this one took me. I didn’t intend to post an actual story along with it, but the further I got, the more I knew I wanted to. As such, it may take a while for things to really pick up, but I hope if you’re reading this, you’re in it for the long haul.

Next, I would like to say that any custom content you see throughout this legacy is not my own. If you see anything that you have created and would like me to include credit for, please reach out to me and I will make sure to give you the proper credit. A large majority of the CC I download is from TSR and I highly recommend checking them out if you’re looking for CC. If you see a specific piece and you’re wondering where I got it, please feel free to reach out to me and I’ll do my best to link it to you.

Finally, a little bit of information about this legacy. I decided on heirs of alternate genders, so since we started out with a female, the next heir will be a male. His daughter will become the generation 3 heir, her son will be the generation 4 heir, and so on. If you hadn’t figured by the name, this will be an Alphabet legacy, so we will run through the alphabet for all heirs and spares. I will not be using any mood or skill altering cheats, but I did install MC Command Center for story progression purposes and it was well worth it (you’ll see what I mean in future generations). I will list the traits and aspirations of relevant Sims throughout the story, but you can see the fully updated family tree on The Plum Tree. I started out using PinStar’s Legacy House Builds and followed most of the rules associated with that challenge. Right now, I am on generation 5, but obviously hope to continue further down the line. Thanks for reading and I’ll be updating soon!
